    The problem

    Testing was the easy part.

    Why now

    The federal rule is not here yet. That is the point.

    Everything a future permit, survey, or claim will ask about is being generated right now, as lab PDFs, custody carbons, and manifests in five different places. Records built calmly on this runway cost a fraction of records rebuilt under deadline.

Michigan and Minnesota reach the same sites by different routes: EGLE sampling guidance, plus pretreatment limits where leachate goes to a POTW, and PFAS conditions written into individual solid waste permits.

    NTrace, explained

    What is NTrace?

    NTrace is PFAS leachate compliance software for landfill operators. It holds Method 1633A results, chain of custody, permit and POTW requirements, and disposition for every site in one traceable record.

    Who is NTrace built for?

    Directors of environmental compliance and regional environmental managers at operators with two or more landfills. Counsel and disposal operations get their own views, but the people who approve results and sign reports come first.

    Does NTrace handle EPA Method 1633A results?

    Yes. NTrace reads 1633A lab reports and EDDs, checks holding times, blanks, surrogates and qualifiers, and holds each result for review. Only approved results reach charts, reports and exports.

    How does NTrace track chain of custody?

    Every result links to its sample event, signed custody form, lab receipt, parser version and approver. The audit log is append-only, so a correction is a new entry with a reason, never an overwrite.

    Can NTrace manage permit and POTW agreement requirements?

    Yes. Permit conditions, POTW agreement clauses and state program rules sit in a requirements register tied to the source document. Sampling dates, report deadlines and notification clocks are generated from it.

    Does NTrace work across a whole landfill fleet?

    Yes. The compliance board shows every site against every obligation, with results awaiting review, open notifications and agreement expiries, and drills into any site's data room.

    Does NTrace decide whether we are in compliance?

    No. NTrace shows your approved results against requirements from your own documents. It sets no thresholds and makes no compliance determinations; those stay with your team and counsel.

    Which PFAS rules does NTrace prepare us for?

    EPA Method 1633A (final December 2024), the pending PFAS revision of the Landfills Effluent Guidelines, the CERCLA PFOA and PFOS designation, and the state programs in Maine, which requires leachate testing by statute, Michigan, which instructs sampling by guidance and regulates leachate sent to a POTW through pretreatment, and Minnesota, which sets PFAS conditions permit by permit.

    Does NTrace replace our EHS system or consultant?

    No. NTrace is the PFAS leachate system of record. It pushes obligations to your calendar or EHS platform, imports consultant data, and generates report drafts your team reviews and submits.
